Kirk Hillier

(Project Leader)

Dr. Hillier was recently awarded a CFI grant to develop the Chemical Analysis & Bio-Imaging Laboratory (CABL), which will provide fundamental research infrastructure for this proposal.  Dr. Hillier's primary field of research, insect behaviour, examines the behaviour of insects in relation to their environment & agricultural science.  The use of advanced imaging & electrophysiological techniques is a unique strategy to develop insect management technology & will be critical for identification of pheromones & semiochemicals.  The research undertaken through CABL will accelerate the development of sustainable technologies for managing threats to human agriculture, forestry & health.
