Dr. Peggy Dixon is an entomologist at the Atlantic Cool Climate Crop Research Centre in St. John’s Newfoundland and Labrador. She has worked as a Research Scientist with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) since 1992. Her primary field of interest is developing integrated pest management programs for insect pests in vegetable and small fruit crops. She is an Adjunct Professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Acadia University in Nova Scotia.
Dr. Dixon is currently working with Dr. Hillier on two MSc projects involving plant volatiles and improved trap design for the cabbage maggot, Delia radicum, and insect resistance in blueberry.
Dr. Dixon is a Past-President of the Entomological Society of Canada and a recipient of the Commemorative Medal for the Golden Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the Gold Harvest Award from AAFC, both for excellence in pest management research.View CV
